David J Kacperski Sensei martial arts background information.
David holds an enhanced DBS registered certificate and is a qualified first aider. He is a fully accredited recognised martial arts instructor coach / grading examiner. David started his martial arts training in 1982 with National Sport and Traditional Karate Federation. It was a Wado Ryu Karate Do / Sport Karate group. David managed to attain his 1st kyu belt level which was then a brown belt and took part in many kickboxing and sport karate championships in both kata and full contact sparring with the N.S.T.K. Unfortunately, the club folded and closed down so he had to look elsewhere for similar training, David was a 1st kyu at the time. He eventually found a traditional karate group the U.K.K.W United Kingdom Karate-do Wado-Kai this was affiliated to the W.I.K.F Wado international Karate Federation. They taught Wado Ryu Karate-do in Mansfield in the old meeting house to be precise he watched the class and decided this was for him. The instructor was David Alsop Sensei 5th Dan. the instructor immediately took a dislike to his freestyle red and white N.S.T.K Gi. And he was given an option either to carry on from the grade he had been awarded by the N.S.T.K or start again from white belt. He took the decision to retake all his grades again and started as a white belt 10th kyu. He trained under Sensei David Alsop 5th Dan until he finally graded to 1st Dan Junior and then later 1st Dan Senior under the late Prof Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi. David regularly took part in the Wado International Karate Federation championships and spring, summer, autumn and winter courses in Wado Ryu Karate do under the Late Prof Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi. He really enjoyed the training and his time there. He left the U.K.K.W / W.I.K.F due to politics and decided to take his clubs and his students elsewhere. He joined another reputable group for karate-do in the United Kingdom based in Birmingham. David felt it was for him as it belonged to the official governing body at the time which was the EKGB the English Karate Governing Body. Here he continued to gain Dan ranks in Wado Ryu traditional karate-do and kept up with his competition interest both in kumite and traditional kata. Also, throughout his time with the EKGB Group he gained coaching awards from the EKGB the English Karate Governing Body as it was back then. After many years of training in Wado Ryu he graded to 4th Dan. He started to feel there was more out there so he started training in Jujitsu, Kempo, Kobujutsu and other styles of Budo and Bujutsu. He took to these new styles quite naturally as some of the elements that make Wado Ryu come from those other martial arts. After sometime, he made the decision to develop is own Karate organisation for all Wado Karateka and so the KIKA Kasakai International Karate Association which is a Traditional Wado Ryu Karate Group was formed. This federation was part of Nakmas, The National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools, another well known governing body. Later, David took the K.I.K.A and became members of the CMAA as David liked their straight forward approach. In 2004 David Founded another group but this time for all martial arts this was the World Bujutsu Federation W.B.F and became an independent group in its own right and has gone from strength to strength ever since. As the W.B.F president David has organised, officiated and took part in and continues to organise many national and international courses / seminars / competitions for martial arts training groups. He also runs championships covering stand up sparring, grappling arts and traditional patterns / kata. These have been thoroughly enjoyed by all so far and so he will continue to organise these events for the W.B.F and associated groups. In 2003/2004 David decided that he wanted to use the skills and knowledge he had gained from the Karate do, Jujitsu, Kempo & Kobudo to create something new and relevant and give it his own stamp. Kasacombat (Kacperski Combat) Modern Mixed Martial Art. Grandmaster Frank Schneider 10th Dan Hanshi his Kempo Instructor. And Grandmaster George Ross 10th Dan Hanshi his Jujitsu instructor at the time offered him invaluable advice and encouragement in creating his new martial art system and for this he was extremely grateful. Also, Andrew Morrell Sensei 8th Dan of the C.M.A.A Cobra Martial Arts Association which is a recognised supporting body for martial arts in the UK. Also offered him great support, advice and guidance and recognition during the creation of Kasacombat Martial Art 2004.
David Sensei continues to teach Wado Ryu Traditional Karate-do under the banner of the KIKA along side his own system of Kasacombat Modern Mixed Martial Art.
